For older Toddlers, Pre-School age and School age children, I plan to introduce various (adaptable) themes into our weekly and monthly routine.
I will introduce these themes in a number of ways (always with regard to the appropriate curriculum guidance / guidelines and the children’s interests) including: art and craft activities; the use of books; puzzles; videos / DVD’s; dolls / puppets; songs; rhymes and music; our usual toys and games; make believe / imaginative play; physical activities and everyday observations at home and during outings.
Some of the themes we may use are:

·

All about Me

·

Senses

·

Seasons

·

Celebrations

·

Food

·

·

·

Shapes

·

·

·

·

·

Some of these themes may overlap in certain ways e.g. Seasons and Weather, Food and Keeping Healthy. This will increase the range of activities that can be carried out and also introduce the concept of relationships between things. You will be informed which theme we are using at any particular time and we will share our experiences with you - in writing, photographs, conversation or through art and craft projects brought home with your child.
